Highlighting the unique and tropical ingredients of the Caribbean islands. Creating the world's first Caribbean Gin.
Hand crafted in small batches, our unique gin has been celebrated by the spirit industry around the world.
Made with the ocean in mind. Our blue ocean edition gin directly gives back to reef restoration projects in the Caribbean.
It’s more than just a drink to us. It’s a way to share the stories and wonders of the Caribbean through flavour and experience, while giving back to our inspiration, the Caribbean Sea. The name Blue Light comes from the beachfront property where we make it, the birthplace of Caribbean Gin.
It all started with the ingredients. Our co-founder Jim’s love for creating local flavours using fresh fruit sparked the idea. He had a juice company for many years and had begun distilling leftover mangos for fun. The abundance of fresh botanicals on the island gave way for a unique flavour profile unlike any other gin before. Combined with our other co-founder, Aaron, they refined the recipe and moved to a sugarcane base.
The freshest, handpicked botanicals are used in each small batch. You won’t find any artificial flavour or syrups in our distillery. Keeping the batch volume low allows us to be hands-on at every step of the process and select only the best “hearts” from each distillation run. It’s a combination of these key factors that keep our quality high and the reason we’ve won international awards.
As passionate ocean lovers, we’re committed to taking action and making small, positive changes towards a sustainable future.
Our design and materials have undergone updates over the past few years, including wooden cork tops, up-cycled composite corks, paper-based labels, no plastic sealer, and cardboard boxes with plastic-free tape. Additionally, we’ve partnered with GAARP on their artificial reef project, a vital platform for education and awareness of the Caribbean’s coral reef state, and encouraging reef restoration.
Our small tropical distillery utilises solar panels to offset much of our electrical power, and we use collected tropical rainwater in our gin-making process. This not only adds to the softness of our finished product but also helps reduce our water footprint. We’re also proud to offer Blue Light Caribbean Gin bottle refills at our distillery for our returning customers, promoting recycling and upcycling while reducing waste.
Our highly passionate team is always looking for ways to progress the very concept of what a gin can be. Highlighting The Caribbean’s finest ingredients and enhancing the beautiful, yet delicate underwater world.
